Project Description
67kW system at each location
394 solar panels in total
Annual production of 205,422 kWh
In 2017 Ballina Shire Council upgraded both the Alstonville and Ballina swimming pools. To reduce the running costs they opted to install a commercial solar system on each building. Stralis Energy were contracted through Woolam Constructions to install a 67kW system on each roof.
The top of the line systems consisted of Solaredge inverters and 394 Canadian Solar panels across both sites. This system allows Ballina Shire Council to accurately monitor the systems output and it’s efficiency. This is an important feature on a system of this scale as they can quickly discover any issues or when the system is in need of maintenance.
Running an Olympic sized swimming pool is a costly exercise. By installing these commercial solar systems Ballina Council have been able to reduce running costs dramatically. Combined the systems generate 205,422 kWh of electricity and saves 175,540kg of CO2 emissions.
