Solar farms are extensive installations of photovoltaic (PV) panels — commonly known as solar panels — designed to generate significant amounts of electricity. Unlike typical residential or commercial systems, solar farms are typically ground-mounted, cover hundreds of hectares, and are strategically located in areas with optimal sunlight exposure.
These large-scale systems are capable of producing hundreds of megawatts of renewable energy, which is either sold into the national electricity grid or directly to private energy purchasers such as retailers, corporations, or industrial consumers through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
